Shout Research™ Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to Shout Research Corp. ("Shout Research"). We are committed to maintaining your privacy and your trust while you use our websites, tools and services. We created this Privacy Policy to explain how Shout Research collects, stores, uses and distributes personal information and anonymous information from users of the www.shoutresearch.com website, www.likevine.com website and the LikeVine Services (the "LikeVine Services"). Please read on to learn more.

Each time that you use the Shout Research website, the LikeVine website or the LikeVine Services, you signify that you agree to be bound by the terms of the Privacy Policy and that you consent to the Shout Research policies and practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information and anonymous information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you must discontinue using the websites, tools and services provided by Shout Research.

Collection of Information

We collect two types of information at Shout Research, Personal Information and Anonymous Information.

PERSONAL INFORMATION. "Personal Information" is information that is personally identifiable to you such as your email address, name, address, birth date and gender. Shout Research only collects Personal Information about you when you choose to provide Shout Research with such information when you visit one of the Shout Research websites or use the LikeVine Services. At the time of collection, Shout Research will set out clearly the information that Shout Research is collecting and the purpose for which Shout Research will use it. Your Personal Information belongs to you and we will only use it with your express permission.

ANONYMOUS INFORMATION. "Anonymous Information" is information that is not associated with or linked to your Personal Information; Anonymous Information does not permit the identification of individual persons. Anonymous Information is anonymous by nature and includes such information as an Internet Protocol Address (IP Address), the domain used to access a website, a browser type or operating system being used. Statistics of Shout Research website users, number of visitors and what pages users access or visit is also considered Anonymous Information. Shout Research aggregates this kind of Anonymous Information when users visit our websites and/or use the LikeVine toolbar.

"Cookies"
Shout Research uses "cookies" to track content usage and traffic on the Shout Research websites. A cookie is a piece of data sent to a user’s browser from a web server, which is stored on a computer's hard drive. Cookies do not allow us to personally identify you. Shout Research uses cookies to help compile aggregate statistics about usage of Shout Research websites. This information is used to improve the content of the website. You can set your browser to notify you when you are sent a cookie and you can accept or reject it.

"Toolbar Data"
When you use the Shout Research toolbar as part of the LikeVine Services, the toolbar may transmit certain Anonymous Information, such as which websites visited and how fast the pages load ("Toolbar Data"). Shout Research uses Toolbar Data to determine the trends, usage patterns and performance of the Internet, specific websites and the LikeVine Services. Shout Research sells analysis of aggregated statistics on Anonymous Information to third parties. By selling this anonymous data, we are able to provide the toolbar and LikeVine Services free.

Use of Information

Shout Research collects information only for the following purposes:

• To contact and correspond with you;
• To provide the LikeVine Services;
• To improve the usability of the LikeVine Services;
• To sell performance measurements for certain Web domains as experienced by LikeVine toolbar users;
• To sell aggregated measurement analysis in the form of reports, online products or services derived from data gathered from LikeVine toolbar users.

DISCLOSURE

Your Personal Information will only be used in connection with the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy or for which you have provided your consent. Shout Research does not sell, rent, trade or share your Personal Information with third parties without your express consent. However, Shout Research will release Personal Information to law enforcement or judicial authorities where required to do so by law.

Please realize that any Personal Information that you voluntarily disclose online (in any comments you may post or in your public profile page, etc.) becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others. Your screen name and any other information you choose to show is displayed to other users when you send messages through the LikeVine Services.

RETENTION

Shout Research will only retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to the fulfillment of the identified purposes or as required by law, which may extend beyond the termination of the Shout Research relationship with you.

SECURITY

Following the Shout Research Corporate Security Policies, personally identifiable information is classified as CONFIDENTIAL and as such, is protected both physically and electronically within the Shout Research corporate headquarters. Shout Research uses multiple layers of security such as hardware and software security to protect its data bases. However, as effective as security measures are no system is impenetrable. Shout Research can not guarantee Personal Information will be safe in the event of a security breach.

To help protect the security of your Personal Information, we recommend you do not disclose your password to anyone. We also recommend you choose passwords that are difficult for others to guess and always logout of your account and close your browser window when you are finished.

OUTSIDE PARTIES AND SITES

Through the Shout Research websites and the LikeVine Services, you may be introduced to a variety of third-party vendors and websites. The privacy policies of these third parties are not under our control and may differ from those of Shout Research. The use of any information that you may provide to any third party, or the use of "cookie" technology by any third party, will be governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the website that you are visiting. If you have any doubts about the privacy of the information you are providing on another website, Shout Research recommends that you contact that website directly for more information and review its privacy policy.

UPDATING/CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

If you wish to review the Personal Information that Shout Research has collected about you to verify its accuracy or to update or correct your Personal Information, please contact privacy@likevine.com.

Shout Research will endeavor to deal with all requests for access and modifications in a timely manner.

AMENDMENT OF THIS POLICY

If Shout Research changes the collection, usage or disclosure of data, your explicit consent will be requested prior to the change.

If Shout Research finds it necessary or desirable to change the Shout Research Privacy Policy in the future, Shout Research will post an appropriate notice on the Shout Research home page (www.shoutresearch.com). Such change to this Privacy Policy will become effective on the date the change is posted and will apply to information collected from the date of the posting of the revised Privacy Policy and to existing information held by Shout Research.

The date on which the latest update was made is indicated at the top of this document. Shout Research recommends that you print a copy of this Privacy Policy for your reference and revisit this policy from time to time to ensure you are aware of any changes. Your continued use of the Shout Research websites or the LikeVine Services signifies your acceptance of any changes.
